Creating power from water

The Tata Group continues its ever-expanding quest to bring resources to low-income citizens of the world, this time with an announcement that it has joined up with MIT scientist Daniel Nocera, founder of SunCatalytix, to create power from water. Specific terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Just 45 days ago, Nocera and his team stuck an artificial cobalt- and phosphate-coated silicon leaf into a jar of water and managed to create power–at an efficiency that surpasses today’s solar panels, no less. The technique mimics photosynthesis by splitting hydrogen from water to generate power from the sun.

Germany Will Introduce The Deutschmark In 2011

It is Wednesday, January 19th, 2011.

All the lights in Berlin’s Chancellory are shining in the grey-blue dusk. Extra police are on duty, checking the identity cards of the journalists, arriving in large numbers.

Chancellor Angela Merkel has called an emergency press conference for 5 pm.

The euro is diving on the currency markets. Capital is flowing out of Germany at an unprecedented pace.

The masters of the universe are furious that their business model has broken down. The investment bank’s main engine of profit has been trading on the debt market. In exchange for worthless, fractional reserve banking, paper debt, they have been getting a steady stream of revenue from national governments but at the cost of tax payers. Asset stripping has boosted their profits still more. They have planned for these revenues to continue for years.

New Species of Carnivorous Mammal Found in Madagascar

Researchers from the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust, the Natural History Museum, London, Nature Heritage and Conservation International discovered a new species of carnivore in Madagascar. This is the first discovery of a new carnivore in 24 years. The small creature weighs under 1 1/2 pounds and belongs to a family of carnivores only known to live in Madagascar.

Unfortunately Durrell’s vontsira (Salanoia durrelli), as it has been named, is one of the most threatened carnivores in the world.

2012: Why humanity could be at the threshold of a quantum leap into a new era

Germany’s biggest newspaper, BILD, reported about the preparations NASA is making to monitor the higher levels of solar activity expected in the next few years, predicted to reach a maximum in 2012. The subject of the sun, its increased activity and its possible impact on us is finally entering the mainstream media also in Europe.

BILD emphasises the potential disruption that a gigantic solar storm could cause. It describes a “horror scenario” of “silence, darkness, chaos” as electricity grids, mobile phones, GPS navigation systems, TV and radio cease to function.

But there is scientific evidence that the increase in the solar activity could give a significant boost to human consciousness and to spiritual evolution.

Gulf Oil Spill: A Symbol of What Fossil Fuels Do to the Earth Every Day

The leading edge of a vast oil slick started to come ashore in Louisiana on Thursday night, a shroud of devastation falling on America’s coastline even as the blown-out BP oil well that produced it continues to belch millions of gallons of thick crude into the Gulf of Mexico for a third straight week.

At moments like this, it’s hard to see any silver lining here at all. But it’s possible there is one. Many environmentalists say that the wrenching and omnipresent images of filth and death are at last providing Americans with visible, visceral and possibly mobilizing evidence of the effects that fossil fuels are having on our environment every day.

Rick Steiner is horrified at the damage. A University of Alaska marine specialist, he’s watched cleanup efforts ever since the Exxon Valdez spill in 1989, and has learned some bitter lessons.

Phoenix to wear Los Suns jerseys, bringing politics to court

The basketball court is rarely, if ever, the site of a political statement, much less during an NBA playoff game. Politics are going to be center court Wednesday night.

The Suns are taking aim at Arizona’s controversial new immigration law during the Western Conference semifinals. Phoenix owner Robert Sarver is outfitting his team in “Los Suns” uniforms for Game 2 against San Antonio. The game also happens to fall on Cinco de Mayo, a traditional holiday celebrating Mexican heritage and culture.

Sarver is also using the high-profile platform to voice the organization’s frustration with the nation’s toughest law on immigration. The act, signed into law in late April, is designed to identify, prosecute and deport illegal immigrants.

Heal the Earth with Positive Vibrations

Since we are celebrating the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, I thought I’d give you another perspective on helping our planet. I call it Vibrational Sustainability. This “green” concept allows us to go beyond recycling, planting trees and using personal care products that are free of toxins. It takes global warming and controlling emissions to an entirely new level.

I’d like to teach you about your own energetic emissions, and how you can aid the welfare of the planet and all her creatures simply by controlling your emotional output. Emotions are waveforms that influence all life around us, because everything is based in energy. Scientists have shown that all animate and inanimate objects are made of vibrating waves of electromagnetic energy. When we feel an emotion, we literally send off waves, as if we were a pebble thrown into a pond.

Bilderberg To Prolong Global Financial Recession For Another Year

The Bilderberg Group will meet this year in Spain and continue to advance their agenda for world economic governance while agreeing to prolong the global financial recession for another year, according to Bilderberg sleuth Jim Tucker, who has discovered through his routinely accurate inside sources that the conference will take place from June 3-6.

Bilderberg sleuths were correct in predicting that this year’s meeting would take place in western Europe, but were wrong in pinpointing the UK as the likeliest location. The 2010 conference will take place in a coastal resort called Sitges, which is about 20 miles from Barcelona.

Why is Bloom Energy Lying to Us?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m extremely excited about Bloom Energy. I honestly think that their technology is a good thing for the world and that it might very well revolutionize the power infrastructure in America and throughout the world. And yes, it will create jobs and make a select few people very rich.

In fact, I think it’s so revolutionary that it doesn’t need to be inflated by false or misleading claims…which is why I’m a little put off by a few naughty little lies in the Bloom press release I got this morning.
